Instagram: Why You Should Add Emojis to Your Bio Name/Caption

Ever wondered why people add emojis to their bio name or caption or Instagram? In a world of catching attention through grids of images, social captions and sharable lines, it can be hard at times to stand out. One quick way of making yourself noticeable, is to edit your Instagram bio in a clear, concise and visually appealing way.

There are many ways you can make your bio more attractive which we will discuss over the coming week on our blog. First up, why you should add special characters such as emojis to your bio:

Emojis to punctuate

Punctuating through emojis

Emojis can be used to punctuate a heavy bio. These key images not only help to break down the words into much more social media friendly sized bite chunks, but also give visual clues about the account. Here in the above example we can easier see when the account owner changes subject – much alike beginning a new paragraph.

Emojis used to to infer

Emojis can enable you to list various facts in a visually clear and attractive way. Here we can see the account owner is from Great Britain, likes to travel, has a Snapchat ID, a work email and an email address to say hello to him on. He hasn’t had to write all of that information, but the visual clues and the bullet point layout has let us know it. By allowing users to infer, it cuts out lots of text which users may find boring to read.

Bullet points have always made information easier to handle – and your bio is no different. Here we can see the options nice and clearly, helping the reader to understand the text. You can punctuate it with any emoji – including an eye one!

If you need to know how to add emojis to your text, read our blog post here.
