SightCare’s Independent Practice of the Year Award winners

A huge congratulations to Michael Offord Optometrists who won the Independent Practice of the Year Award at the recent SightCare Conference.

Michael Offord Optometrists distinguished themselves by offering a personalised service tailored to individual needs, curating a unique selection of high-quality eyewear brands, and providing expert advice backed by specialised knowledge. They demonstrated experience that goes beyond mere transactions, fostering trust, loyalty, and a sense of belonging among customers seeking more than just standard optical services.

We spoke to them about their achievement:

How did you/your team feel when your practice was announced as the winner?

We were absolutely delighted!!

What was the stand out features that you believe helped you win your award?

Having clear goals and targets set out for the year ahead as a team, really helped us have a good sense of direction on what we wanted to achieve. We really feel this was key in accomplishing as much as we did in the year! This would definitely be our one take away tip for any practice considering entering for any awards.

Does this win make you want to be more ambitious about your practice and if so how?

Winning this award has really helped to boost the team’s confidence, giving us all a real sense of achievement. It’s easy to forget how important our role is in the community, but taking the time to sit back and reflect on what you do, and why you do it, really does give you the motivation to keep pushing onwards and upwards.

What future plans can be expected from you in terms of your team development?

With our newly heightened sense of enthusiasm, we aim to continue to raise the bar with our patient journey and experience, with some exciting projects in the pipeline, some of which include a brand-new website, community events and raising money for charity.  We are lucky enough to have a team filled with driven individuals, who are looking forward to embarking on new courses to build on their knowledge and skills even further.

How will you share your award success with your patients, community and staff?

We have shared the success on our social media, receiving an abundance of lovely comments, feedback and gifts. We will be sending our newsletter out in the summer; we look forward to sharing the news with our wider audience then.

We are excited for a team meal out in March to celebrate together in style!
