Conference statement from SightCare CEO John French
I am delighted to be able to tell you that now Covid-19 restrictions have eased, with updated
guidance on wearing face coverings and social distancing, we will be going ahead with our 2021
SightCare Business & Networking Conference in person on Sunday 19th and Monday 20th September
2021 at the Telford International Centre.
We know it will have been a long time since you last attended a meeting, so I want to reassure you
that your safety and that of your Team will remain our number one priority.
We are committed to keeping our Members and colleagues safe and will therefore be keeping safety
measures in place to let you network with your colleagues and peers and enjoy 2 days of workshops,
keynote speakers, CET education, learning and fun.
We will ask all attendees for proof of vaccination via their NHS Passport or proof of a negative
Lateral Flow Test 24 hours prior to attending. All conference attendees will be encouraged wear a
face covering when moving around the venue to maintain social distancing where possible.
Our venue is fully compliant with the industry standards and Government guidelines regarding
COVID-19 and has accreditation from the The Association for Event Venues which is delivered to
venues for their commitment and excellence in delivering COVID-secure services and adhering to
strict cleaning and hygiene protocols.
Our venue has confirmed that all their staff will be wearing face masks, are testing regularly, and are
provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) for their area of work. Installed
protective screens and safety barriers will be in place at our conference Reception.
We are taking precautions to ease congestion in all our conference areas including staggered lunch
times, additional seated areas and one-way systems etc.
With the pandemic, many of us, had to adapt to new ways of meeting. Zoom or Teams meetings
have become the new normal. Sure, they are very convenient and useful, but we all miss human
interactions. What is really missing is the warmth and the joy of seeing each other face to face. After
such a long time, people are looking forward to seeing each other, get that warmth again, and be in
the same room (at a safe distance of course!).

We cannot wait to welcome you back to our conference on 19th & 20th September!
