"By far the biggest benefit from my point of view is having the ability to talk with and compare ourselves with like-minded practices on a continuous basis. We do this by attending the annual One-Day Conference and the autumn round of Regional Meetings and indeed on a daily basis through the members "blog" SCDialogue."
David Samuel – Eyesite
Independent practitioners on an individual basis cannot hope to compete with the vast marketing and promotional budgets of the optical chains, nor should they. Collectively, however, it is possible to have a voice. The Sight Care Group has launched a national PR campaign in support of its members promoting the ethos of 'the independent' in local communities. The campaign objective is to raise the profile of independent optical practices with both the media and consumers alike. National TV, radio, national and regional newspapers and life-style magazines will be targeted, drawing to their attention the value and importance of independent practices in the lives of local people and their communities.
Eye Love My Local Independent Optician is a campaign aimed at consumers and devised to promote Sight Care members and the independent ethos. Our objective is to create a sustainable campaign that drives footfall to the independent practices. The campaign will seek to show that independents, as one of the last bastions of the community, offer much more than just an eye test.
