SightCare celebrates excellence at 2026 national optical awards

Independent practices from across the UK recognised for outstanding patient care, innovation and community impact at SightCare LIVE.

SightCare has recognised the very best in independent optometry at its 2026 national awards, held as part of SightCare LIVE at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham.

The black-tie event brought together independent practices from across the UK to celebrate excellence in clinical care, customer experience, innovation and community engagement.

The evening saw Kelcher Optometrists named Independent Practice of the Year, recognising an exceptional all-round performance combining clinical excellence, innovation and deep-rooted community engagement.

Across a total of 10 categories, practices and individuals were honoured for their commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and driving the profession forward.

Emma Rawlings, CEO of SightCare, said:

“Each of our winners represents the very best of independent optometry. Their dedication, innovation and commitment to patient care is truly inspiring. These awards are not just about recognition, but about celebrating the passion and standards that continue to strengthen our profession and the communities we serve.”

As part of their award, Park Lane Opticians will receive an exclusive prize package from FEB31ST, including a visit to the company’s headquarters and factory in the Italian Alps. The experience will offer a behind-the-scenes insight into the design and craftsmanship of FEB31ST’s distinctive, sustainable eyewear, along with the opportunity to create their own bespoke frame.

SightCare also used the event to support the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust, helping to shine a spotlight on this important cause through a dedicated awareness video and donation campaign. Delegates were provided with leaflets and posters to take back to their own practices, extending the reach of this vital message to communities across the UK.

Winners were presented with certificates alongside a unique handcrafted award created by West Country Blacksmiths, reflecting the individuality and craftsmanship at the heart of independent practice.

The SightCare Awards form part of SightCare LIVE, bringing together independent practices, industry partners and thought leaders from across the UK for two days of learning, collaboration and celebration.
