What young adults need to know
Firstly, we need to think about what young adults need to know about your services:
- That those in full time education get free NHS eye tests
- That you need your eyesight examined every two years
- That some eye conditions are hereditary
- The best practice for wearing contact lenses
- The rules around what vision is required for driving
- The alternatives to glasses that fit in best with their lifestyle
What young adults need to feel about you
- That you know what you’re doing, and can make them feel at ease
- That you will offer them the best styles
- That they can trust you
- They need to know that you care, and will help ease any worries for them
- That you have great glasses
- That you can help them see
- That you are reasonably priced
How to portray these messages to young adults
- Instagram is the preferred social media channel for young adults, so this should be the platform you post to them on
- Young adults enjoy watching videos
- GIFs and memes are a great way of creating engagement
- Display lots of stylish frames on models or influencers
- Work with local influencers to show off your frames and services
- Have a great backdrop area for photos
- Have a selfie corner or frame so they can share photos on social media
- Have your social channels and a hashtag on display
- You can go back through our backlog of hundreds of social media images and choose the ones which fit the brief
- Post about relevant awareness days or interests that young people typically enjoy. This may include sporting events, fashion news etc
