LinkedIn Connection Limits
If you have a profile LinkedIn account, you may be building up your network so that you can further your standing in your profession. Here is how to grow your LinkedIn network without hitting connection limits:
- Limit your connection requests to 10-20 per day – this will equal an extra 300-600 connections per month
- The more you’re active on LinkedIn, the more requests you will receive
What’s a commercial limit?
Your commercial limit is a restriction on how many profiles you can search for. This limit can be reached by viewing too many accounts of people you aren’t connected to or profiles shown in the People Also Viewed section.
What do I do if I’ve reached my commercial limit?
This is reset on the first day of the month at midnight, until this point, your suggested profile viewing and search facility will be limited. However, to counteract this, you’ll need to upgrade to premium. This will allow you to connect with third degree profiles and view as many profiles as you wish.
You can also try removing old connection requests (this is better done on a desktop browser as it is quicker). You can find your requests here.
Other reasons for a restricted account
- Your name goes against the User Agreement
- Abusive behaviour
- Illegal or inappropriate behaviour
- Hacked or compromised account
How to appeal a restricted or removed account
You’ll have received a message provided of the content removal – you can reply directly to this or log into your account and follow the messages.
