How to Follow Topics On Twitter
Twitter has unveiled a new feature: Topics. Topics allows to you stay connected to relevant areas of content based on your interests, such as health and business. By choosing your topics, you can control how your Twitter looks, allowing you to see more relevant tweets. If you visit your home page on Twitter, you’ll see prompts to follow various topics. Simply click the ‘follow’ button to see your favourite subject areas.
Here are some things to note:
- Topics are public, so your followers (and non followers if you have a public profile and they click on yours), can see the topic areas you follow. To protect your Tweets, go to your Privacy and safety settings and select Protect your Tweets.
- You can unfollow topics at ant time. Visit Interests from Twitter in Your Twitter data, and Twitter won’t personalise your content based it again
- Following topics is beneficial as it allows you to find content worth sharing with your followers
- Unfollowing a Topic doesn’t stop it from appearing on your timeline if people you follow are talking about the subject area
