Best Practices to Improve Page Visibility & Follower Engagement On Facebook
Creating engagement and visibility on Facebook isn’t as easy as you may wish for. This is largely due to Facebook’s algorithms favouring those who pay for it’s advertising space and sponsored posts. However, there are ways to become more visible on Facebook.
Best Practices to Improve Page Visibility and Follower Engagement
Select up to three categories in the page settings that define your business and page – for instance, opticians/optometrists. This makes your page easier to find on Facebook.
Add your address
Add your address and check the map pin is in the correct place so that you are easily found
Ensure your logo and cover photo are up-to-date
If your store logo and Facebook profile logo are different, they may not ‘like’ the right page
Add your website
This makes it easier for people to check it’s the right page and can also allow them to find out more about you
Update your hours
Make sure your business hours are up-to-date too. People like to know when you are open.
Turn on recommendations
Recommendations allow your page to appear in searches for specific items. Trust through word of mouth is also increased by having recommendations on!
Competitions, regular posts, interesting content and inviting your friends to like your page are all ways you can make sure you stay at the top of news feeds.
Although you may have done a lot of these when you first set up your page, it’s important to go back over regularly and check for any updates. Perhaps you now shut on Mondays, or finish at 5.30pm instead of 5pm. Perhaps your phone number has changed, or your logo. You may have more Facebook friends you can invite to like it. Keeping on top of your page information is an important way to stay visible and trustworthy on Facebook.
