David Samuel MBA, MCIM, FBDO,CL
After a 30 years career in optics as a qualified Dispensing Optician, Contact lens Optician, Partner, Marketing Manager and Managing Director, David masterminded the growth of Eyesite to a combined turnover of £6m and over 70 staff. All this whilst studying for his Marketing Degree once that was under his belt, an MBA from Reading University management Unit.David’s past experience includes: – Director and Chairman of the SightCare Services, Chair of the fundraising committee for Vision Aid Overseas, Council member of the British Contact Lens Association. David enjoys golf, travelling and cooking… often at the same time!
Gavin Rebello Bsc (Hons)
A co-founder of Storm, SightCare member and former Chairman, Gavin is a forward-thinking optometrist who has thrived in the independent sector for over 20 years. He has owned and managed a number of highly successful practices, creating and developing innovative niche areas within each and building strong, focused and motivated teams. Gavin is a qualified teacher in both Scaravelli and Dru yoga styles and also Chi Kung. His training outside of optics has taught him that to be successful it is critical to never lose focus on why we are doing what we are doing.
Simon is a professional and experienced business owner, and a hands-on coach/trainer with over twenty years of senior management experience and thirty three years’ experience within the optical profession. He has succeeded within a variety of blue-chip companies in fields such as training and development, business coaching, operations, high impact marketing campaigns, manufacturing and retail sales, business planning, recruitment and selection and business development. He believes in empowering, motivating and encouraging a change in mindset so clients are able to release their full personal and professional potential through becoming modern day thinkers and leaders of their teams.
Nick is a retail consultant based in Shoreham by Sea. He has worked in retail for over 30 years and is a retail sales and marketing expert and founder of the Bridge Between.
It’s Nick’s vision and passion that drives his clients on to greatness. Nick has worked with international companies including. W H Smith, Wella, Essilor, Luxottica, Marcolin, Alcon, Menicon and Oakley. Nick’s also an EBC Level 2 Children’s Cricket Coach. Passing on his passion and knowledge of the summer game to 11 year old Fortnight flossers. Recently a co-founder at ReviewsWow.com, developing the concept, selling, marketing and promoting. David describes himself as a ‘Change Agent’. By building on his own life experience he set up his own business acting as a coach, mentor and consultant and has helped 100’s of business owners to develop themselves and their business. David is one of the SightCare: Storm Alliance business coaches and was introduced to Optics when he was invited to be the lead in the SightCare Evolution programme. This successful programme has helped many business owners understand their values and purpose and help them to then go on to realise their potential.
