Rob Harnett: Stumped As to Where to Start With Social Media Marketing?
Rob Harnett is a highly experienced ophthalmic lens expert, driven and focused on delivering excellence to Independent Optical Practices.
THIS SHORT POST WAS INSPIRED BY A NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO RECENTLY ASKED ME SOME QUESTIONS WITH REGARDS TO MY OWN SOCIAL MEDIA ACTIVITY…
Whilst the subject at hand is VAST, we have to start somewhere, if we wish to engage with current, and potential, patients online; the question is where???
FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, LINKEDIN, YOUTUBE, PINTREST, GOOGLE+, TUMBLR, FLIKR…the list goes on.
Before you start to think about which platform(s) best suit you, and your demographic, be sure you’ve taken the all-important big (yet very small) first step…get your Google Places Page, via Google’s FREE (!) Google My Business service.
It’s very simple to do, but so many independent practices have yet to claim their Google Place, let alone enhance it to maximize its impact.
If you haven’t yet, or you don’t know what shows up on your Google Place Page, click the link in the image below now…it takes no time at all to set up, and is very easy to do!
Once you are happy with your Google place, that you’re accurately positioned on Google Maps, and that the contact details are all correct, you’ve began your Social Media journey! And smile, it’s a positive step….people no longer look business’ up in the, “Book of Pages”, if someone is looking for something, like their nearest friendly Independent Opticians….they GOOGLE* IT!
*apparently other search engines are available
At the start of this, “short post”, I referred to people contacting me and asking re. Social Media; this is something I enjoy. If anyone else wants my humble opinions on Social Media Marketing…please feel free to contact me, I just love to help Independent Practices in any way that I can.
